Privacy
Rest has no account. Your workouts stay on your iPhone. To improve the app and manage your subscription, three services receive technical data, never the content of your training. Here is exactly what.

Who is responsible
Rest is published by NAELO SAS (see the legal notice). For any question about your data: aurelien@naelostudio.com.
What stays on your iPhone
Everything you enter is saved in a local database on your device, never on our servers:
- your workouts, sets, weights, reps and notes;
- your exercises, including the ones you create, and your routines;
- your custom rest times and settings (unit, theme, language, haptics);
- your onboarding answers (goal, frequency, unit).
We have no access to this data. It may be included in your iPhone's iCloud or local backup, handled by Apple according to your settings. The Export Data button creates a file that only you decide to share.
Notifications (rest finished, reminder before your trial ends) and the Live Activity on your lock screen are scheduled locally by the app, without a push server.
Usage statistics (PostHog)
To understand which features help and where the app gets in the way, Rest sends usage events to PostHog, hosted in the European Union (PostHog Cloud EU). Autocapture is off: only the events listed here are sent, with no screen recording and no capture of your taps.
- Workouts: workout started, finished (duration, number of sets and exercises), discarded or resumed; set logged with the exercise category (for example "isolation").
- Rest: timer started (duration), skipped or adjusted (+15 s / -15 s).
- Features: exercise created (muscle group and category, not its name), routine created, edited or deleted (number of exercises), custom rest time, data export, import or reset.
- Onboarding and subscription: onboarding screens viewed, answers (goal, frequency, unit), paywall shown, purchase or restore succeeded or failed (technical error code, product identifier).
- Settings: change of unit, theme, language or haptics.
- Technical profile: language, unit, theme, Pro status, number of finished workouts, app version, device model, iOS version, time zone.
These events are tied to a random identifier created by the app, not linked to your name, email or Apple ID. Your exercise names, weights, reps and notes are never sent. As with any connection, your IP address is used to send the data; PostHog may use it to estimate an approximate location (country, city).
Legal basis: our legitimate interest in improving the app. Retention: 24 months at most.
Crash reports (Sentry)
When the app crashes or hits an error, a technical report is sent to Sentry (Functional Software, Inc.): error trace, device model, iOS and app version, and the last screens visited. A share of sessions also sends performance measurements (loading times). No personal identifier is added to these reports.
Legal basis: our legitimate interest in fixing bugs. Retention: 90 days at most.
Purchases and subscription (RevenueCat and Apple)
Payment is handled entirely by Apple: we never see your card, your name or your Apple ID. To know whether Rest Pro is active, the app uses RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc., USA) from launch.
RevenueCat receives an anonymous identifier created by the app, App Store transaction details (product, date, price, currency, storefront country, trial and renewal status), device model, iOS and app version, and your IP address when connecting.
Legal basis: performance of the contract (giving you access to what you bought). Retention: as long as needed to manage your purchase and meet our accounting obligations.
What we don't do
- No account, no email asked, no sign-in.
- No ads, no tracking across apps or websites (no advertising identifier).
- No selling or renting of data.
- No tracking cookies on this website.
Transfers outside the European Union
Sentry and RevenueCat are US companies. Any transfer to the United States relies on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses and, where applicable, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, erase, object, restrict and port your data. Email us at aurelien@naelostudio.com, we reply within 30 days. You can also lodge a complaint with your data protection authority (in France, the CNIL).
Because usage data is linked to neither your name nor your email, we often cannot find it. Deleting the app erases the random identifier: a new one is created if you reinstall. Details are on the data deletion page.
Children
Rest is not intended for children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.
This website
rest.naelostudio.com uses no cookies and no audience measurement. The host, Vercel, processes technical connection logs (IP address, browser) to serve pages and keep them secure.
Changes
If we change what the app collects, this page is updated before the related version ships, with a new date at the top.
